I am an anxious cleaner. If there is anything on my mind, I pick up my favorite all-purpose cleaner and scrub away my problems. I have tried hundreds of products over the years and have developed this list of my all-time favorite holy grail cleaning products that I use every day.
This post is about the best cleaning products.
Top 3 All-Purpose Cleaners
Multi-Purpose cleaners have a special place in my heart because you can pretty much use them on anything. My go-to products are normally multi-purpose cleaners for everyday uses, like wiping spills, cleaning the forgotten corners of my windowsill, wiping down my bathroom countertop, and dusting off my dresser. Here are my holy grail multi-purpose cleaners and where to find them:
Method Multi-Purpose Cleaner, Target.com
I love the method brand because I feel good using naturally derived products. I started out with a bottle at target (I love the french lavender scent) and I buy the refills on Amazon. The refills are $40 which sounds expensive but I get them in a pack of 6 which fills about 15 bottles, so it would work out to be less than $3 per bottle which isn’t too expensive. I love using the method cleaner mainly because I like the lavender scent.
Fantastik All-Purpose Cleaner, Walmart.com
Okay so my mom got this for me from the grocery store once when I ran out of all-purpose cleaner. I HATE the scent of this but it’s worth mentioning because it cleans really well. I use it the most in my bathroom, and I find that it breaks up dirt very easily and makes tackling even the dirtiest corners a breeze. If you’re looking for a more heavy-duty multi-purpose cleaner, this one is for you.
Pledge Multisurface Cleaner, Target.com
I use this the most often for cleaning glass, mirrors, and dusting surfaces like my desk, nightstand, and dresser. I love all of the scents of this, by my favorite is probably the rainshower scent. This made the list of holy grail products because it’s available literally everywhere. This is a go-to of mine if the method cleaners are unavailable.
Glass Cleaner Hall of Fame
There is something so satisfying about cleaning a window or door. My chore around the house growing up was cleaning the glass screen door, and I remember how much I loved looking at a door that was freshly cleaned. Nothing annoys me more than a glass cleaner that leaves streaks. Some multi-purpose cleaners claim that they work on glass, but in my opinion, nothing else gives me more satisfaction than cleaners specifically formulated to clean glass.
Windex Original Glass Cleaner, Target.com
I’ve grown up using Windex, so it is my glass cleaner of choice. This is my first choice for cleaning glass windows, doors, mirrors, and chrome accents. If you haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favor and get yourself a bottle of this.
Sprayway Glass Cleaner, Target.com
When I clean windows from the outside that typically see a lot of dirt, I use this. I loved to use this on the windows facing the outside at my parent’s house. I use this on my car windows and windshields if I opt to not get it professionally done at the car wash. I use this less often than windex, but it’s still worth mentioning, since it’s great for cleaning REALLY dirty glass.
Sweeping, Mopping, and Dusting Products That Make My Heart Happy
Before I show you my favorite products for this category, I promise that Swiffer did not sponsor this blog post. (Although, if anyone from Swiffer sees this, you know who to cast in your next commercial!) All jokes aside, they pretty much dominate this category, and for good reason. They have solid products and are the only brand I actually use for this category. I love the duster because it traps dust, keeping surfaces cleaner for longer.
The sweeper is among my all-time favorite top purchases EVER. I don’t think I can express to you in words how much I love it. The lavender-scented refills for it smell SO GOOD and the dry sweeper cloths trap dirt, dust, and hair like a magnet. I would still recommend using a dustpan to get rid of the excess dirt that doesn’t stick to the cloth though. The wet cloths are adequate. I would recommend the wet cloths for small spaces, as they tend to dry out if you use them on a larger area. If I run into this problem, I just use more than one cloth per area.

Favorite Miscellaneous Products
These cleaning products did not fit into a distinct category. They each hold a special place in my heart, so I fit them into a miscellaneous category.
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, Target.com
If I am going all out to clean my bedroom, you can bet your bottom dollar that I am using this to clean the walls. They clean scuff marks on walls better than anything I’ve tried. I also cleaned the vinyl siding of my parents’ garage over the summer, and not to toot my own horn or anything, but the siding looked like it had been professionally cleaned after I was done cleaning it. I can’t recommend this product enough.
Clorox or Lysol Wipes
I use these brand interchangeably when it comes to disinfectant wipes. I use these EVERYWHERE — from the floors in my college dorm room before I got my swiffer, to door handles and light switches just to be *extra safe* to wiping down surfaces to clean them. They are so versatile and give me the extra piece of mind that my surfaces are being sanitized.
Bounty Paper Towels
Dare I explain myself? If you’ve ever used bounty paper towels before, you know exactly what I mean when I say I literally can’t use any other brand of paper towel because bounty is CHEF’S KISS.
Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaner, Target.com
I have tried my fair share of toilet bowl cleaners, and this one takes the cake. I will have to do a separate blog post on how well this works, because my oh my does it clean a toilet. This is the end-all-be-all of toilet cleaners. If you’re unsatisfied with your current toilet cleaner, you should FOR SURE give this one a go.
